Discipline Program

The Discipline Program (DP) engages and assists students in understanding appropriate student behaviors to attain meaningful and respectable interaction with one another in the school community. It educates students about expected conduct and present potential consequences for failing to adhere to such expectations.

DP is implemented by the Discipline Office (DO) headed by the Prefect of Discipline (POD) following the guidelines set in the Student Handbook. Under him are Discipline Officers. Each of them is assigned to focus on particular grade levels. The DOs employ measures to correct inappropriate behaviors by providing students with clear guidelines and expectations to effect necessary changes. But more than just addressing the misbehavior is the effort to help students see the cause for the behavior and thereby engages students in selfreflection.

The following are the services of the DP:

a) Implements rules and regulation stated in the student handbook.
b) Coordinates with concerned offices in school or institutions outside to assist the concerned student in the process of amending his actions
c) Keeps disciplinary records of students and other records pertaining to students’ behavior.
d) Conducts conferences with identified students (together with their parents if necessary) to pre-empt possible behavioral concerns
e) Collaborates with other offices in school in designing proactive measures to improve student behavior
f) Responds appropriately to cases endorsed by teachers or any person in authority in school
g) Initiates trainings, symposia and other activities meant to raise safety awareness of students, parents, faculty and staff
h) Proposes/designs/implements procedures for a smooth flow of institutional activities in coordination with activity organizers

Note that the Discipline Program is headed by the POD and managed by four (4) other discipline officers, and a staff member.
