The past weeks have been busy and stressful for most of us as we continue to gear up for our formal opening of school this month. To add to the stress are the declaration of the Department of Education regarding the opening of school and the Inter-Agency Task Force announcement putting Iloilo City under General Community Quarantine.
Based on clarifications made by the Department of Education on the opening of school and based on the latest Executive Order of the City Mayor on the implementation of general guidelines for GCQ in Iloilo City, please be informed that we shall proceed with our formal opening of school on August 24 as planned.
Because we have a commitment to our parents who continue to trust us with the formation of their children, I enjoin everyone to do all that must be done to make sure that we are able to carry out this mission well. We ask all teachers to please make sure that they will be able to deliver our contextualized blended learning program with a high degree of excellence. We also ask all office personnel to continue to contribute to our CBL Program through their dedicated delivery of support services.
Given the recent health concern affecting our school community, I wish to assure everyone that we have taken all the necessary measures to contain the threat with the assistance of different local government units. We shall also review our health and safety protocols and their implementation to determine if there are areas that need to be strengthened.
Because we have a mission to carry out, we need to keep all offices open and ensure the delivery of essential school services. Faculty will report to work according to guidelines previously agreed. School offices will run daily on a skeletal staff. We ask all supervisors to please discuss with their staff details of this provision. Should you have any difficulty reporting for duty, you may apply for special work arrangements following the guidelines set and promulgated last week.
We pray that everyone will be safe as we purposively pursue the goals we have set as a school community during this time of pandemic. We enjoin everyone to please strictly and religiously follow the health and safety protocols as recommended by our local government and communicated by our Human Resource Office and Health & Safety Committee, not only for your sake but for the sake of our families and school community as well.
