Message from the President

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Recently, we received reports of kidnapping attempts in Iloilo. Most of these attempts targeted students outside their school premises. With all these reports, it is best for us to be proactive in ensuring that this will not happen inside and outside our own school yard.

While ADI-SMCS management will try its best to intensify our security within the campus, your children might still be exposed to danger if left unsupervised by a trusted adult.

We would like to remind you to please take extra precautions especially during dismissal. Please instruct your wards to be extra careful in dealing with strangers who might be posing as an acquaintance, substitute 'sundo', survey interviewers, and the like.  Please immediately report to the nearest security officer within the vicinity in case you encounter suspicious interaction with a stranger inside and outside the school.

Corollary to this , i also received reports that some have not complied with the car pass policy. I would like to reiterate that the car pass should be visibly pasted on the car's windshield. Your full cooperation will help us make our campus safe and secure.

Sincerely,

Fr. Joseph Y. Haw,SJ

School President

Ateneo Family Day 2015 in full swing this December 5

ALL ROADS lead to Atria Park in San Rafael, Mandurriao, Iloilo City as thousands of members of the Ateneo de Iloilo-Santa Maria School community—students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, guardians, benefactors, and friends—are expected to flock altogether this Saturday, December 5, for the celebration of the Family Day 2015!

The annual event, sponsored by the ADI-SMCS Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA) of both grade school and high school departments, is themed “One Ateneo. One Family.” It is organized by the two PTAs with the intention to share joy as one Ateneo family in one big festivity.

Fittingly, the celebration will start with a morning community mass set at the school’s Chusuey gymnasium. This will be followed by a compendium of games, competitions, and activities which will be done all over the Ateneo complex all at the same time. This includes graffiti art tilt, science interactive classes, logo making contest, photo booth, go-cart, trampoline, horror booth, and the all-day-long food fest. Scores of kiosks offering different food-beverage selection and entertainment package such as bicycle rides will also be set for all the Atenean revelers and their loved ones.

The afternoon regale will kick off with the annual bingo and raffle with big prizes in store for the winners. This will be followed by a cheer dance presentation as a prelude to the Blue Harvest, a velada of literary, musical, theatrical, and artistic presentations from the students, teachers, alumni, and parents of the school. The staging will end just after dusk and will be followed after by fireworks display in the school field. From then on, DJ-led music and bands will play at the rotunda area of the school until 10 p.m. (Dr. Herman M. Lagon)
